Glatigny Farmhouse, Normandy

Glatigny Farmhouse is a lovely traditional stone farmhouse that has been beautifully renovated to a very high standard by its owners. The property can sleep up to 8 people in 3 bedrooms and is located in  Manche, Normandy, within easy reach of Cherbourg ferry port.

Downstairs you will find an open-plan kitchen/living/dining room brimming with the farmhouse’s original character, complete with a gorgeous ornate wood burner. The kitchen is exceptionally well equipped with everything you need so you can prepare delicious meals with the incredible produce you’ll find at the local markets.

On the first floor there are 2 beautiful bedrooms with original antique furnishings and a stunning bathroom with a fabulous roll top bath. On the top floor mezzanine level is the third bedroom and a cosy second lounge – the perfect hideaway spot if you just need a little downtime.

Glatigny Farmhouse has 2 outside courtyards, one with seating and a large pizza oven and bbq,  and a smaller rear courtyard that catches the morning sun and is the ideal spot for a coffee and croissant.

There are also extensive gardens for guests to enjoy complete with an outdoor bar, mixed fruit orchard, ‘exotic glade’, fruit and vegetable garden and a wild flower meadow.

Children and big kids alike will love the barn stocked full of bikes, outdoor games,table tennis and a snooker table and you’ll also find an “Indoor Outdoor” area for you to relax on the swing or practice your darts skills whatever the weather!

The great thing about this property is that it’s less than 5 minutes away from a beautiful sandy beach making it ideal for families or those looking for a seaside holiday. And that’s not all, with many other popular attractions within easy reach such as Mont St Michel, World War II sites and the lovely towns of Barneville-Carteret and Bayeux.

The property is owned by Samuel and Francesca who purchased the property in 2015. They love this part of France, from the beautiful beaches, buildings and culture to the fantastic food and slower pace of life! Their aim throughout the renovations was to create something that was oozing with character and the traditional style of the area, but at the same time indulgent and luxurious and we think they have done a great job!
