This month’s featured property is the fabulous Tooting Plage at The Yellow House, a lovely ground floor apartment just 150m from a beautiful sandy beach in La Tranche-sur-Mer, Vendee.

The property is ideal for those holidaying with someone elderly or disabled as the property is all on one level and completely accessible with a fully tiled wet room.
Tooting Plage can sleep 6 people in 3 bedrooms; all are a good size and are tastefully decorated with a light and airy feel. It has a well equipped kitchen and lovely living area with sliding doors giving access to the landscaped outdoor area with a built-in barbecue and plenty of seating for al fresco dining and relaxing outside in the sun.

A real highlight of this property is its proximity to one of the prettiest beaches in the area, and the easy step free access that makes it ideal for families with pushchairs and buggies as well as those who are less able.
Mediterranean atmosphere from March to November
The property is owned by Jane and Bill Shaw who purchased the house in 2015 after their previous French holiday home became too small for their growing family.
They love the micro-climate of the area meaning that warm, sunny summers can last from March right through to November and that families of all ages can enjoy the sandy beaches all year round.
During the peak season, La Tranche-sur-Mer has a buzzy Mediterranean atmosphere with a huge range of entertainment on offer for all ages. There is still plenty to do out of season, with several fabulous bars and restaurants within walking distance of the apartment.
Get back to nature in a rural French location
The area is perfect for those who enjoy walking, cycling or even birdwatching as there is a variety of nature reserves nearby with flowers and birds in abundance.
There are also several fantastic antique and brocante markets held most weekends so you can pick up a holiday bargain. For those who like to venture slightly further afield, La Rochelle is just an hour’s drive from the property and the world renowned vineyards of Bordeaux can be reached in 3 hours.
