Le Marronier, Chef-Boutonne, Deux Sevres

This month’s property of the month is Le Marronier, a beautiful 2 bedroom Charentais cottage that can sleep up to 4 people, situated within beautiful chateau grounds in Chef-Boutonne in the Deux Sevres department of Poitou Charentes.

A focus on food

The cottage has a large open lounge area with a fabulous logburner, which makes the perfect addition to any out of season breaks! Another great feature of this property is the new, well equipped and fully-fitted kitchen which has been carefully thought out by the owner of the property, Corinne Dingley.

Corinne is a talented chef so why not treat yourself to a gourmet meal at the chateau served in the prestigious oak panel dining room? Alternatively Corinne can cook you a romantic dinner for 2, served al fresco in the pretty gazebo in the garden.

Abundant sports and games facilities

On-site there is a fabulous shared indoor heated swimming pool, along with a large tennis court and gamesroom, containing a pool table, tennis table and table football! If that isn’t enough for you there is also a swing set and trampoline available for the children.

For those looking for a more relaxing break, the private walled parkland of the chateau is the perfect place to simply sit with a glass of wine in the famous Charente sun and read a good book.

Activities in the local area

For those who like to venture further afield there is also plenty to see and do in the local area, including a visit to Cognac and its famous brandy distilleries – don’t forget to sample the produce!

There are also loads of activities to keep the kids entertained, including the famous Futuroscope theme park in nearby Poiters and La Vallee des Singes (Valley of the Monkeys) – the perfect place for animal lovers with no cages to be seen!
