A family home since 2005

Le Deran is owned by Rachel Steel and her family, who have lived in Brittany since 2005. The property is actually their family home that is rented out to guests during the summer months, so you can be sure that the cottage is a real home-from-home and well equipped with everything you may need during your stay.

Rachel and family live on-site in a neighbouring building throughout the summer, so are on hand to answer any questions you may have without being intrusive, and are also willing to offer pony rides and the grooming of their 3 friendly ponies, which children are sure to love!

Character, charm – and al fresco dining!

The property still retains a lot of its original charm and character, including a thatched roof, oak-beamed ceilings and granite fireplace.

Inside, it is tastefully decorated with a fabulous, bespoke oak kitchen and large oak dining table and chairs. An excellent feature of the kitchen is the large double doors that open out on to the sunny patio area, complete with seating and a barbecue – perfect for al fresco dining with a glass of wine on a hot summer’s evening!

Upstairs are 4 good size bedrooms, with plenty of storage space in each room.

Fully stocked garden for a summer’s day

Outside, the property has a lovely garden complete with plenty to keep the whole family entertained, including table tennis, badminton and boules. The above ground pool is for the exclusive use of guests to Le Deran, and is perfect for cooling off on a hot summer’s day. If you want to relax, there are plenty of sun loungers and parasols to help you make the most of the good weather.

There is plenty to see and do nearby for visitors of all ages, including the famous collection of prehistoric standing stones in Carnac.

Lac de Guerledan

Also just 30 minutes’ drive away from Le Deran is Lac de Guerledan which has a huge range of leisure activities for all ages. Watersports range from gentler activities such as pedalos and canoeing, all the way up to adrenaline filled water-skiing!
