La Jouberie is an impressive ancient and fortified manor house nestled in the Normandy countryside, making it the perfect place for a relaxing holiday surrounded by natural beauty but still within easy distance of many historic sites and fun activities.

Beautiful character features

The property can sleep up to 4 people in 2 bedrooms and has been restored to a very high standard yet retains plenty of character features including stunning and impressive fireplaces in every room along with original wooden beams and stone walls that highlight the strength and craftsman ship of this building.

La Jouberie has half a hectare of gardens that are listed in Le Guide des Parcs et Jardins de Normandie, with stunning views across open countryside. The perfect spot to relax and dine al fresco after a day of exploring all that Normandy has to offer.

Lots to see and do nearby

The property is ideally situated to explore the D-Day landing beaches and World War 2 memorial sites. The chateau in the charming nearby town of Creully was the home of the BBC during the war and has a permanent exhibition displaying photos from this time which is well worth a visit.

A trip to the bustling town of Granville is recommended with its lovely port, old town, shopping lanes and delicious seafood restaurants. Don’t miss a visit to the Dior Museum, the family home of Christian Dior with fabulous exhibitions that are changed twice a year.

The world famous Mont St Michel is also within easy driving distance of La Jouberie.

Perfect for an active holiday

The property is located on the edge of Suisse Normande which is ideal for guests who enjoy an active holiday with kayaking and bungee jumping nearby to name but a few. However, if you prefer a more relaxed holiday then the area is perfect for you too with good food, beautiful beaches, local markets and quaint villages, plus history galore.

La Jouberie is owned by Alison Sykes who bought the property in 2006 and runs a small, unique plant nursery in the grounds.  She chose the property due to its location in the rolling Normandy countryside and the wealth of attractions for guests to see and do nearby.  Alison recommends Falaise Castle, the birthplace of William the Conqueror.
