La Ferme, Charente, Poitou Charentes
La Ferme is a fabulous gite sleeping 6 people in Mons, Poitou Charentes. The gite is located at La Grue, a complex of 3 cottages that are ideal for larger parties of up to 12 people when renting all of the gites together.
Recently renovated in traditional Charentais style
La Ferme has been recently renovated in the traditional Charentais style with exposed beams and stone walls in addition to having all the modern equipment that guests could need. The gite has its own private courtyard garden with a BBQ and access to the on-site shared heated 12m x 6 m swimming pool.
Le Ferme has 3 spacious bedrooms (2 double and one twin), all with stunning views over countryside and in the living room you’ll find a fabulous feature fireplace making the gite ideal for any out of season breaks.
La Grue Gites is owned by Carol and Martin Paylor and their children who left their hectic lives in the UK to start a new life in France in December 2017. They love meeting new people and Carol says “People seem to like the fact we live separately, across the road from La Grue Gites – the guests have their privacy but also that safety net of us being on hand for them.”.
Well equipped for families
After spending many holidays in France and getting to know the Charente region, the Paylor’s chose to relocate here thanks to the friendly people, delicious local food, and warm climate. Did you know that Poitou Charentes is the second sunniest region in the whole of France?
The Paylors have made La Grue extremely family friendly and have invested in baby and child-friendly equipment so that parents don’t need to bring everything but the kitchen sink with them; being parents of young children themselves, they understand the needs of their guests.
Lots to see and do nearby
There’s plenty to see and do nearby including the fabulous Zoodysee and Vallee des Singes animal parks for the kids, and grown-ups are sure to love a trip to Cognac for a distillery tour and tasting – all within an hour of La Grue.
For those who prefer a more active holiday, the local undulating countryside is simply beautiful with quiet lanes perfect for cycling and walking by fields of maize, vines and stunning sunflowers. The Charente has many small villages and hamlets with historic architecture, churches, Roman remains and amphitheatres all waiting to be explored.
A week’s stay at La Ferme starts from just £700 or a family of 6. For more information or to book visit the advert on our website: https://www.holidayfrancedirect.co.uk/holiday-rentals/PC006059/index.htm
