Christmas wishes to be back in France next year…

It’s been such a strange and challenging year and people have been affected in so many ways by the Covid pandemic. One thing is for sure, we will never again take for granted the pleasure of spending time with family and friends and the precious memories made together at home or abroad.

The Holiday France team are looking ahead to better times and making Christmas wishes to revisit our favourite places in France next year…what would be on your Christmas list?

All I want for Christmas… is to spend the morning walking around the bustling Monday market in Auray.

The sights, sounds and smells are amazing and it’s the perfect excuse to pick up some delicious treats and local products to take home with you!

All I want for Christmas is… to pop across to Dinan.

One of my favourite places, cobbled streets and lots of lovely coffee shops where you can sit and people watch. A kouign-amman from the bakery is a must.

All I want for Christmas… is to revisit Monet’s gardens in Giverny.

The colours, sights and smells are especially nice in the springtime, particularly the blossoms over Le Pont Japonais. A spot of tea on the terrace at the Restaurant Les Nympheas would finish the day off perfectly!

All I want for Christmas… is to find all the hidden treasures in the streets of St Malo.

Admire the beach from the city walls and stop off for a bite to eat at the Crêperie Le Tournesol, THE best galettes and crêpes in St Malo. Make sure you make a reservation though!

All I want for Christmas… is the chance to visit the gorgeous ice-cream shop La Martiniere in Saint-Martin-de-Re.

You must try a scoop of their delicious homemade Charente melon sorbet – if you haven’t been yet you need to put Ile de Re on your travel bucket list immediately!
