Sunflower Gites, near Gemozac, Charente Maritime, Poitou Charentes
A set of six charming cottages belonging to the same owner in a rural, tranquil location in Charente Maritime, Poitou Charentes, in beautiful western France.
This group of six charismatic properties includes Soleil d’Or (sleeps 5), Harlequin (sleeps 6), Soraya (sleeps 5), Zebulon (sleeps 4), Ikarus (sleeps 4) and Pastiche (sleeps 5).
Situated down a quiet country lane, surrounding a shared heated pool and splash pool, these cottages are ideal for group family holidays or families who appreciate a bit of similar company!
Despite being situated in the peace and tranquillity of a small village, these properties are just 1km from the nearest amenities making it an ideal holiday resting spot, not to mention the great weather. Trevor Abell, owner of the gites says:
“We chose this area as it is the second warmest region of France, after Côte d’Azur…”
So, for days when you feel like staying at home, you can enjoy soaking up the sun whilst lounging by the pool or have a go at scuba diving with a qualified instructor. Also, for the children, there’s a play area, with swings and a slide, and a huge area for ball games. For those who fancy exploring the close surroundings, there is also a range of bicycles on site – no need to bring your own!
For days out, slightly further away from the properties but all within an hour, a few recommendations from the owners include La Rochelle’s Aquarium, La Palmyre Zoo – an animal park that has won many awards for its achievements – Le Chateau des Enigmes – a castle where the whole family can enjoy a fun yet educational treasure hunt, and any of the various Cognac houses and Bordeaux vineyards.
